
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Oil&Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.42%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.47%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 4.30% or 0.90 points to trade at 21.93 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) added 4.15% or 1.11 points to end at 27.71 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 4.15% or 2.18 points to 54.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 0.76% or 1.70 points to trade at 221.30 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 0.57% or 0.22 points to end at 37.50 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was down 0.35% or 1.35 points to 385.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which rose 7.23% to 18.10, ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was up 5.49% to settle at 10.76 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 4.85% to close at 13.53.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 2.68% to 22.15 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 2.28% to settle at 2.40 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 2.11% to 15.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 357 to 176 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.11% or 0.34 to 15.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.91% or 37.90 to $1,944.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.48% or 1.68 to hit $69.50 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.44 to trade at $75.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP rose 1.04% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 102.92.
