
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.09%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 3.37% or 1.50 points to trade at 46.00 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 3.21% or 1.34 points to end at 43.09 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.16% or 3.00 points to 141.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 2.50% or 0.83 points to trade at 32.52 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.94% or 2.55 points to end at 128.70 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 1.53% or 0.86 points to 55.31.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which rose 7.36% to 5.54, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) which was up 3.37% to settle at 46.00 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) which gained 3.21% to close at 43.09.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.62% to 27.02 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 4.57% to settle at 13.79 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which was down 2.50% to 32.52 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 268 to 240 and 114 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.20% or 23.80 to $1,957.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.21% or 0.87 to hit $72.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.76 to trade at $77.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.11.
