
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.40% or 0.61 points to trade at 25.82 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.22% or 1.01 points to end at 46.69 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.35% or 0.94 points to 70.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which fell 4.96% or 1.99 points to trade at 38.05 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 2.30% or 3.14 points to end at 133.22 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 1.86% or 0.51 points to 26.91.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which rose 4.19% to 151.65, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 3.38% to settle at 1.88 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which gained 3.04% to close at 89.85.
The worst performers were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 12.20% to 2.49 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which lost 8.59% to settle at 3.11 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:PLOF) which was down 5.81% to 18.01 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 226 and 112 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.65 to $1,963.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.90% or 0.71 to hit $79.45 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.55 to trade at $83.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 101.13.
