
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Consumer Services and Foods&Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.17%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which rose 1.47% or 0.24 points to trade at 16.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Danone SA (EPA:DANO) added 1.33% or 0.65 points to end at 49.94 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.16% or 0.70 points to 61.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 3.97% or 1.22 points to trade at 29.41 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.28% or 0.56 points to end at 24.05 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 2.27% or 0.19 points to 8.34.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which rose 7.58% to 17.04, Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was up 4.15% to settle at 105.40 and Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which gained 2.16% to close at 22.66.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.40% to 25.88 in late trade, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which lost 3.97% to settle at 29.41 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 3.21% to 15.09 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 318 to 217 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.40% or 1.19 to 25.88.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1,715.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.34% or 2.08 to hit $86.83 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 1.80 to trade at $93.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP rose 0.95% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 110.13.
