Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Gas&Water, General Financial and Foods&Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.20%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which rose 2.19% or 0.57 points to trade at 26.61 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 1.70% or 0.42 points to end at 25.07 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 1.16% or 0.76 points to 66.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 1.58% or 1.90 points to trade at 118.60 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 1.49% or 10.20 points to end at 673.80 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was down 1.47% or 21.50 points to 1,443.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which rose 3.08% to 13.91, Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which was up 2.64% to settle at 15.75 and Korian Medica SA (EPA:KORI) which gained 2.53% to close at 9.12.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 2.67% to 6.55 in late trade, Thales (EPA:TCFP) which lost 1.58% to settle at 118.60 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) which was down 1.49% to 673.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 301 to 230 and 101 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.56% or 10.10 to $1,805.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.10% or 2.40 to hit $79.89 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.20% or 3.40 to trade at $84.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.98.
