
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Gas&Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.20%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM), which rose 3.35% or 1.51 points to trade at 46.49 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 1.00% or 0.29 points to end at 29.71 and Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) was up 0.96% or 0.31 points to 32.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 4.95% or 12.30 points to trade at 236.20 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 3.62% or 4.80 points to end at 127.85 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 1.77% or 2.90 points to 160.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurazeo (EPA:EURA) which rose 5.37% to 69.60, Elis Services SA (EPA:ELIS) which was up 3.75% to settle at 17.72 and Television Francaise 1 SA (EPA:TFFP) which gained 3.55% to close at 7.87.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 21.75% to 12.52 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which lost 7.99% to settle at 8.76 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 4.95% to 236.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 315 to 232 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) fell to all time lows; down 21.75% or 3.48 to 12.52. Shares in Elis Services SA (EPA:ELIS) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.75% or 0.64 to 17.72.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.55 to $1,819.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.21% or 0.94 to hit $76.64 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.68 to trade at $82.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 105.65.
