
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Oil&Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 1.07% or 0.80 points to trade at 75.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 1.01% or 0.30 points to end at 30.11 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 0.89% or 1.42 points to 161.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 2.65% or 4.30 points to trade at 158.05 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.58% or 10.45 points to end at 394.05 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 2.42% or 0.30 points to 11.92.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 21.85% to 0.26, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 4.19% to settle at 2.53 and Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which gained 3.00% to close at 26.82.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 8.97% to 26.78 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 6.58% to settle at 5.85 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 2.65% to 158.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 276 to 227 and 103 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safran SA (EPA:SAF) rose to all time highs; rising 0.89% or 1.42 to 161.20.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.40% or 28.15 to $2,040.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.63% or 1.97 to hit $76.83 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.44% or 1.95 to trade at $81.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 102.54.
