
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.58%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which rose 1.38% or 2.46 points to trade at 181.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) added 1.11% or 0.11 points to end at 9.80 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 1.00% or 0.16 points to 16.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 3.57% or 5.45 points to trade at 147.00 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 1.85% or 1.24 points to end at 65.78 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 1.78% or 3.35 points to 184.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which rose 1.96% to 14.56, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was up 1.77% to settle at 27.58 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 1.59% to close at 5.61.
The worst performers were Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 12.00% to 95.88 in late trade, Rexel (EPA:RXL) which lost 3.82% to settle at 24.16 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 3.57% to 147.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 199 and 108 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.96% or 0.28 to 14.56. Shares in Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) fell to 3-years lows; down 12.00% or 13.07 to 95.88. Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.57% or 5.45 to 147.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.05% or 1.00 to $2,051.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.30% or 1.66 to hit $73.85 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 1.31 to trade at $78.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 102.05.
