
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Gas&Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.46%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which rose 1.10% or 0.59 points to trade at 54.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 0.87% or 0.78 points to end at 89.96 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.84% or 1.10 points to 132.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 2.09% or 1.30 points to trade at 60.80 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 1.99% or 0.61 points to end at 29.83 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.84% or 0.55 points to 29.41.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which rose 2.82% to 6.19, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 2.63% to settle at 3.83 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 2.50% to close at 20.51.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 5.02% to 143.80 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 4.45% to settle at 103.00 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 4.33% to 23.22 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 341 to 207 and 85 ended unchanged.
Shares in Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) rose to all time highs; rising 2.50% or 0.50 to 20.51.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.77% or 32.90 to $1,821.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.92% or 2.35 to hit $78.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.56% or 2.21 to trade at $83.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.03% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.04% at 105.42.
