
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.98% or 5.10 points to trade at 133.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) added 1.43% or 2.60 points to end at 185.05 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 1.31% or 0.56 points to 43.33 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 3.64% or 0.89 points to trade at 23.54 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.76% or 10.55 points to end at 371.15 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was down 2.61% or 1.63 points to 60.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which rose 3.98% to 133.10, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was up 2.19% to settle at 79.50 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 2.02% to close at 97.20.
The worst performers were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was down 6.80% to 5.83 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 5.63% to settle at 5.70 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 4.39% to 2.22 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 295 to 213 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.76% or 10.55 to 371.15. Shares in ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) fell to all time lows; down 6.80% or 0.43 to 5.83.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.29% or 5.95 to $2,021.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.45% or 1.75 to hit $73.12 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.63 to trade at $78.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 102.35.
