Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.85%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.35% or 0.54 points to trade at 23.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 1.65% or 0.35 points to end at 21.60 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 0.94% or 0.76 points to 81.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 5.80% or 19.10 points to trade at 310.10 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) declined 3.46% or 5.50 points to end at 153.45 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 3.30% or 15.50 points to 454.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 11.85% to 9.96, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 2.84% to settle at 27.50 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 2.35% to close at 23.32.
The worst performers were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which was down 5.80% to 310.10 in late trade, Klepierre SA (EPA:LOIM) which lost 4.95% to settle at 18.25 and Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which was down 4.57% to 13.37 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 311 to 210 and 98 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.20% or 19.65 to $1,656.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.75% or 0.63 to hit $85.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 1.03 to trade at $93.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 111.99.
