
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Oil&Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.89%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which rose 1.53% or 2.80 points to trade at 185.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 1.32% or 0.27 points to end at 20.76 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 1.24% or 24.20 points to 1,982.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which fell 10.36% or 5.00 points to trade at 43.24 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) declined 9.21% or 5.76 points to end at 56.79 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 4.10% or 3.83 points to 89.53.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which rose 2.92% to 13.73, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was up 2.78% to settle at 3.48 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 2.61% to close at 133.50.
The worst performers were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which was down 10.36% to 43.24 in late trade, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) which lost 9.21% to settle at 56.79 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.30% to 2.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 325 to 199 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.53% or 2.80 to 185.70. Shares in Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.61% or 3.40 to 133.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.56% or 11.55 to $2,078.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.23% or 0.93 to hit $76.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.14% or 0.92 to trade at $81.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 102.90.
