
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.01% to hit a new 6-months low, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 1.21% or 1.90 points to trade at 158.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Danone SA (EPA:DANO) added 0.62% or 0.32 points to end at 51.89 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was down 0.07% or 0.06 points to 87.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 5.89% or 2.25 points to trade at 35.95 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 4.05% or 1.90 points to end at 45.00 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 3.80% or 0.98 points to 24.82.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 4.16% to 1.49, Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was up 1.21% to settle at 158.90 and Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which gained 0.88% to close at 11.48.
The worst performers were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 7.79% to 1.73 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 7.71% to settle at 18.20 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 6.48% to 9.23 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 403 to 120 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.80% or 0.98 to 24.82. Shares in Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) fell to all time lows; falling 7.79% or 0.15 to 1.73. Shares in Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.48% or 0.64 to 9.23.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.41% or 7.50 to $1,839.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.89% or 0.79 to hit $89.61 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.48 to trade at $91.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 106.84.
