
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.12%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which rose 0.58% or 0.10 points to trade at 17.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 0.49% or 0.46 points to end at 94.16 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.47% or 0.65 points to 138.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which fell 4.21% or 84.00 points to trade at 1,912.20 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 3.73% or 33.30 points to end at 859.00 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 1.95% or 9.75 points to 490.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which rose 2.74% to 23.98, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was up 1.85% to settle at 27.58 and Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which gained 1.05% to close at 183.00.
The worst performers were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which was down 7.06% to 123.80 in late trade, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which lost 4.21% to settle at 1,912.20 and Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was down 3.77% to 39.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 344 to 179 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.74% or 0.64 to 23.98. Shares in SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.85% or 0.50 to 27.58.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.32% or 6.20 to $1,958.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.54% or 1.16 to hit $74.16 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 1.31 to trade at $78.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 99.60.
