
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.30%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 2.79% or 1.72 points to trade at 63.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 1.43% or 0.26 points to end at 18.42 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.53% or 0.70 points to 132.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 4.49% or 1.20 points to trade at 25.52 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) declined 3.82% or 2.39 points to end at 60.25 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was down 3.69% or 3.30 points to 86.12.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which rose 2.79% to 63.42, Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which was up 1.94% to settle at 142.05 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which gained 1.43% to close at 18.42.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 8.20% to 11.20 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which lost 5.64% to settle at 8.12 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 5.08% to 3.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 414 to 151 and 65 ended unchanged.
Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) fell to all time lows; down 8.20% or 1.00 to 11.20.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.85% or 33.95 to $1,868.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.36% or 1.03 to hit $76.75 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 1.22 to trade at $82.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.90% at 104.36.
