
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Oil&Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.43%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 1.01% or 0.24 points to trade at 23.91 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 0.34% or 0.16 points to end at 45.42 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 0.27% or 0.60 points to 222.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 4.97% or 1.85 points to trade at 35.37 at the close. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) declined 3.28% or 0.88 points to end at 25.97 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was down 2.91% or 2.10 points to 70.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 4.70% to 2.54, Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was up 2.28% to settle at 19.71 and Korian Medica SA (EPA:KORI) which gained 1.81% to close at 7.02.
The worst performers were Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which was down 9.38% to 16.91 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 5.18% to settle at 12.99 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 5.16% to 7.62 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 358 to 186 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) fell to all time lows; falling 9.38% or 1.75 to 16.91.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.87% or 55.10 to $1,978.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.05% or 1.40 to hit $66.95 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.14% or 1.60 to trade at $73.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.64% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 103.48.
