
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 2.90% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 2.91%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 0.16% or 0.60 points to trade at 373.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) fell 0.18% or 0.07 points to end at 36.18 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 0.54% or 0.34 points to 63.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which fell 6.81% or 4.10 points to trade at 56.15 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) declined 6.23% or 1.59 points to end at 23.93 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 6.16% or 1.69 points to 25.74.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which rose 2.83% to 18.55, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 2.46% to settle at 11.47 and JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which gained 1.46% to close at 18.76.
The worst performers were Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 8.26% to 20.99 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 7.07% to settle at 0.82 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 6.92% to 19.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 486 to 85 and 62 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.56% or 47.75 to $1,914.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.40% or 1.84 to hit $74.84 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.38% or 1.97 to trade at $80.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.90% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 103.16.
