
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.28% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 3.48% or 0.41 points to trade at 12.05 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.68% or 1.22 points to end at 46.82 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.63% or 1.34 points to 83.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 2.15% or 9.20 points to trade at 417.85 at the close. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 1.03% or 0.11 points to end at 10.56 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was down 0.57% or 0.17 points to 29.73.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 20.53% to 7.86, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was up 6.56% to settle at 9.75 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 5.09% to close at 114.50.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was unchanged 6.33% to 0.01 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which lost 2.90% to settle at 2.74 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 2.75% to 26.18 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 296 to 228 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.63% or 1.34 to 83.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.11% or 2.25 to $2,047.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.20% or 0.14 to hit $71.44 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $76.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 102.07.
