France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.40%

Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 2.51% or 3.50 points to trade at 143.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 1.86% or 7.05 points to end at 385.45 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 1.84% or 3.34 points to 184.58 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 3.12% or 1.95 points to trade at 60.55 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 0.28% or 0.26 points to end at 91.04 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.17% or 0.02 points to 10.69.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 3.83% to 2.82, ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was up 3.63% to settle at 6.57 and Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which gained 3.31% to close at 20.29.

The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 4.67% to 20.63 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 4.22% to settle at 0.02 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 3.97% to 6.05 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 230 and 85 ended unchanged.

Shares in Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.51% or 3.50 to 143.20.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.54% or 11.15 to $2,038.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.71% or 3.48 to hit $70.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 3.97% or 3.13 to trade at $75.63 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 101.80.
