
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil&Gas, Consumer Services and Aerospace&Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.48% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 5.87% or 0.84 points to trade at 15.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 3.87% or 0.44 points to end at 11.81 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 2.74% or 1.60 points to 59.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 0.76% or 0.18 points to trade at 22.90 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) declined 0.64% or 0.38 points to end at 58.59 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.57% or 0.10 points to 17.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which rose 5.87% to 15.07, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was up 3.87% to settle at 11.81 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which gained 3.59% to close at 13.99.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was unchanged 9.89% to 0.02 in late trade, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which lost 2.85% to settle at 161.70 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 2.22% to 5.19 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 288 to 234 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 9.89% or 0.00 to 0.02.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.11% or 22.70 to $2,060.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.45% or 0.34 to hit $76.30 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.28 to trade at $81.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.53% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 103.25.
