
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas&Water, General Financial and Foods&Drugs sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.63%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.52%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which rose 2.78% or 46.80 points to trade at 1,728.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 2.69% or 0.92 points to end at 34.98 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 2.26% or 0.97 points to 43.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 2.24% or 0.53 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 1.76% or 2.50 points to end at 139.42 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was down 1.68% or 0.30 points to 17.72.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which rose 11.24% to 282.00, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 7.83% to settle at 5.00 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which gained 3.36% to close at 4.42.
The worst performers were Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 6.10% to 43.90 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 3.21% to settle at 1.13 and Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was down 3.20% to 30.88 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 268 to 249 and 93 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.10% or 2.05 to $1,985.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.49% or 2.13 to hit $83.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.29% or 2.06 to trade at $87.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.70% at 106.07.
