
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Basic Materials and Gas&Water sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.72%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 2.50% or 10.15 points to trade at 415.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 2.16% or 1.82 points to end at 86.24 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.13% or 2.65 points to 126.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE), which fell 1.35% or 0.36 points to trade at 26.23 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 1.32% or 1.10 points to end at 82.24 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 1.08% or 0.17 points to 15.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 4.51% to 0.98, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 4.27% to settle at 12.41 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which gained 2.99% to close at 24.10.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 2.85% to 4.22 in late trade, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which lost 2.84% to settle at 27.03 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 2.28% to 3.59 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 282 to 228 and 102 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.65% or 12.90 to $1,960.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.38% or 1.84 to hit $75.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.27% or 1.85 to trade at $79.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 105.35.
