
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.84% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.45% or 1.77 points to trade at 41.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 3.67% or 0.43 points to end at 12.16 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 3.27% or 0.78 points to 24.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which fell 1.92% or 1.38 points to trade at 70.68 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) declined 1.89% or 0.55 points to end at 28.60 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 1.45% or 0.15 points to 10.44.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 6.15% to 2.23, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was up 4.77% to settle at 25.25 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which gained 4.45% to close at 41.46.
The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was down 5.97% to 8.90 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 4.46% to settle at 6.21 and Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which was down 3.04% to 42.78 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 276 to 253 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Renault SA (EPA:RENA) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.45% or 1.77 to 41.46. Shares in Nexity (EPA:NEXI) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.97% or 0.56 to 8.90. Shares in Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.46% or 0.29 to 6.21. Shares in Renault SA (EPA:RENA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.45% or 1.77 to 41.46.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.89% or 19.55 to $2,169.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.31% or 0.24 to hit $78.17 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.24 to trade at $82.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 102.63.
