
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Oil&Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 2.51% or 1.01 points to trade at 41.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 2.00% or 7.55 points to end at 384.15 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 1.81% or 8.10 points to 455.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 4.06% or 0.49 points to trade at 11.48 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.63% or 0.68 points to end at 24.99 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) was down 2.01% or 3.44 points to 167.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 4.35% to 0.01, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 4.11% to settle at 6.03 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which gained 3.57% to close at 31.90.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 28.95% to 2.79 in late trade, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which lost 4.74% to settle at 13.48 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 4.06% to 11.48 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 297 to 234 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to all time highs; up 1.81% or 8.10 to 455.75. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; losing 28.95% or 1.14 to 2.79.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.69% or 14.25 to $2,039.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.35% or 0.25 to hit $72.53 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.32 to trade at $77.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 104.38.
