
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Oil&Gas sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Aerospace&Defense and Construction&Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.37%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 5.29% or 1.32 points to trade at 26.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.59% or 1.95 points to end at 124.60 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 1.17% or 0.72 points to 62.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which fell 2.96% or 1.05 points to trade at 34.45 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 2.79% or 1.31 points to end at 45.51 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 2.51% or 10.50 points to 407.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which rose 5.29% to 26.28, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 3.62% to settle at 13.73 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 3.23% to close at 5.17.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 10.41% to 7.04 in late trade, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which lost 4.69% to settle at 26.04 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 4.34% to 2.29 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 227 and 97 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 1.15 to $2,036.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.61% or 1.87 to hit $73.65 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 2.02 to trade at $78.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 102.18.
