France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.48%

Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Oil&Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.48%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.08%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 0.75% or 1.00 points to trade at 134.10 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) added 0.58% or 2.60 points to end at 451.30 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 0.41% or 0.24 points to 59.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 1.70% or 1.06 points to trade at 61.41 at the close. Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) declined 1.30% or 0.21 points to end at 15.96 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was down 1.16% or 0.52 points to 44.26.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 2.68% to 5.74, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:SESL) which was up 2.22% to settle at 138.00 and Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which gained 1.80% to close at 12.42.

The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 2.82% to 4.20 in late trade, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which lost 2.56% to settle at 35.00 and BIC (EPA:BICP) which was down 1.80% to 62.85 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 279 to 262 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to all time highs; rising 0.58% or 2.60 to 451.30.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.38% or 8.00 to $2,085.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.35% or 1.00 to hit $73.11 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 1.18 to trade at $78.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.81.
