
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Electronic Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.72%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which rose 2.15% or 0.23 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 1.35% or 0.90 points to end at 67.38 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 1.25% or 2.40 points to 194.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 4.76% or 21.20 points to trade at 424.20 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) declined 4.04% or 7.46 points to end at 177.24 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 2.62% or 3.65 points to 135.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which rose 3.18% to 25.30, Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which was up 2.15% to settle at 11.00 and ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which gained 2.12% to close at 313.50.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 15.13% to 4.13 in late trade, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which lost 6.43% to settle at 177.50 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 5.12% to 139.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 247 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 15.13% or 0.74 to 4.13. Shares in ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.12% or 6.50 to 313.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.33% or 6.85 to $2,058.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.58% or 0.42 to hit $72.37 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.36 to trade at $77.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 102.32.
