
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil&Gas, Financials and Aerospace&Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.75%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 1.94% or 0.75 points to trade at 39.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) added 1.78% or 3.30 points to end at 188.95 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was up 1.04% or 0.45 points to 43.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 2.41% or 1.59 points to trade at 64.33 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 2.31% or 1.24 points to end at 52.48 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 2.18% or 0.53 points to 23.82.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 4.93% to 3.49, Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which was up 3.14% to settle at 38.06 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which gained 3.09% to close at 11.34.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 14.43% to 1.17 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 5.86% to settle at 14.15 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 4.40% to 21.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 310 to 188 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; down 14.43% or 0.20 to 1.17. Shares in Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.14% or 1.16 to 38.06.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.84% or 20.00 to $2,349.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.50% or 1.11 to hit $73.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 1.08 to trade at $77.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.09.
