
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil&Gas, Utilities and Aerospace&Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.91% to hit a new 6-months low, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 3.23% or 0.75 points to trade at 23.98 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 0.95% or 0.60 points to end at 63.78 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.57% or 0.06 points to 11.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which fell 4.01% or 2.14 points to trade at 51.23 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.91% or 0.87 points to end at 21.25 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 3.16% or 4.80 points to 147.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which rose 3.23% to 23.98, Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was up 1.05% to settle at 115.35 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which gained 0.95% to close at 63.78.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 4.96% to 64.15 in late trade, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which lost 4.44% to settle at 26.69 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) which was down 4.01% to 51.23 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 341 to 174 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.95% or 0.60 to 63.78. Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.91% or 0.87 to 21.25. Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) rose to all time highs; rising 0.95% or 0.60 to 63.78.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.39% or 27.00 to $1,962.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.14% or 1.83 to hit $87.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.76% or 1.58 to trade at $91.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 106.34.
