Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.02%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Consumer&Cyclical and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.02%, while the MDAX index added 0.19%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.46% or 0.55 points to trade at 22.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel&Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) added 2.31% or 1.74 points to end at 77.20 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 1.93% or 1.04 points to 54.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 1.46% or 0.47 points to trade at 31.73 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) declined 1.26% or 2.20 points to end at 171.80 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was down 1.17% or 4.00 points to 339.00.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which rose 5.83% to 8.06, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 4.70% to settle at 1.05 and Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which gained 3.29% to close at 113.10.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 3.36% to 22.98 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 2.96% to settle at 98.50 and Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which was down 2.55% to 28.24 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 5.66% to 22.40, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 2.61% to settle at 7.79 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which gained 2.14% to close at 49.60.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 9.33% to 84.05 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 2.66% to settle at 13.53 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 2.26% to 18.57 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 349 to 320 and 79 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.46% or 0.55 to 22.93. Shares in Henkel&Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.31% or 1.74 to 77.20. Shares in Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.33% or 8.65 to 84.05. Shares in Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) fell to all time lows; down 2.66% or 0.37 to 13.53.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.26% to 17.67.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.13% or 2.65 to $2,022.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.84% or 1.29 to hit $71.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 1.23 to trade at $75.40 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 102.24.
