
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Chemicals and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.06%, while the MDAX index added 0.51%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which rose 6.22% or 6.01 points to trade at 102.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 3.20% or 0.61 points to end at 19.53 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 2.71% or 1.28 points to 48.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn), which fell 6.28% or 2.62 points to trade at 39.07 at the close. Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 2.38% or 0.61 points to end at 25.03 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 2.20% or 0.58 points to 25.74.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 7.95% to 23.70, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 4.61% to settle at 11.91 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which gained 3.52% to close at 11.75.
The worst performers were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was down 3.72% to 37.02 in late trade, Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which lost 2.74% to settle at 710.00 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was down 2.19% to 53.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 3.09% to 12.02, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 2.61% to settle at 21.26 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.02% to close at 33.83.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 1.79% to 27.41 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 1.10% to settle at 116.90 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 0.95% to 83.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 322 to 280 and 40 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.58% to 13.66.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.75% or 16.05 to $2,157.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.19% or 1.71 to hit $79.86 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.68% or 1.38 to trade at $83.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 103.15.
