Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.14%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financial Services and Food&Beverages sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.14% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.09%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.13%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 3.66% or 13.00 points to trade at 367.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 3.27% or 0.35 points to end at 11.06 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) was up 3.21% or 3.30 points to 106.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 5.76% or 4.92 points to trade at 80.50 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) declined 1.24% or 0.59 points to end at 47.05 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was down 1.21% or 0.88 points to 71.94.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 6.06% to 1.83, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 3.67% to settle at 11.72 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which gained 3.50% to close at 70.96.

The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 13.42% to 54.58 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 5.71% to settle at 104.00 and GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which was down 3.23% to 37.12 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 3.66% to 367.80, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 3.10% to settle at 29.30 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 3.07% to close at 34.87.

The worst performers were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.74% to 22.08 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 0.37% to settle at 11.98 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 0.34% to 116.50 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 350 to 265 and 32 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 13.42% or 8.46 to 54.58.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.42% to 13.33.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.28% or 5.95 to $2,164.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.16% or 0.13 to hit $79.00 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $83.04 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 102.88.
