Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.31%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Insurance and Retail sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.31% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.48%, and the TecDAX index added 0.28%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which rose 4.62% or 11.30 points to trade at 255.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 3.49% or 0.41 points to end at 12.30 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 3.25% or 1.60 points to 50.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which fell 5.76% or 10.58 points to trade at 173.04 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 2.14% or 0.69 points to end at 31.32 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was down 1.58% or 0.49 points to 30.45.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 5.04% to 25.75, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was up 3.01% to settle at 35.95 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 2.97% to close at 13.53.

The worst performers were Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was down 6.09% to 48.44 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 2.67% to settle at 6.71 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which was down 2.58% to 67.26 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 2.97% to 13.53, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 2.36% to settle at 364.50 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.03% to close at 35.48.

The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 2.14% to 31.32 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 1.75% to settle at 26.94 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 1.67% to 265.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 308 to 288 and 34 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.62% or 11.30 to 255.70. Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.49% or 0.41 to 12.30. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.67% or 0.18 to 6.71. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.75% or 0.48 to 26.94.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.06% to 12.36 a new 3-years low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.28% or 6.05 to $2,158.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.96% or 0.79 to hit $82.95 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.67 to trade at $87.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 103.49.
