Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.39%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Food&Beverages and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.39%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.05%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.75%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which rose 2.07% or 1.01 points to trade at 49.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) added 2.02% or 1.08 points to end at 54.55 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 1.66% or 0.42 points to 25.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 1.98% or 0.57 points to trade at 28.17 at the close. HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) declined 1.89% or 0.51 points to end at 26.49 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 1.77% or 0.44 points to 24.40.

The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which rose 7.61% to 23.75, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was up 4.90% to settle at 24.39 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 2.03% to close at 72.95.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 7.08% to 5.71 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 4.43% to settle at 45.73 and Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX) which was down 2.62% to 48.65 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 3.17% to 52.05, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 2.07% to settle at 49.71 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 2.03% to close at 72.95.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 2.80% to 18.75 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 1.48% to settle at 23.26 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 1.05% to 15.06 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 354 to 300 and 107 ended unchanged.

Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to all time lows; losing 7.08% or 0.44 to 5.71. Shares in Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.90% or 1.14 to 24.39.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.50% to 26.09.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 10.05 to $1,771.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.24% or 0.23 to hit $94.66 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.08 to trade at $101.30 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 108.42.
