
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.42% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.35%, and the TecDAX index added 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG), which rose 3.19% or 2.64 points to trade at 85.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 2.92% or 11.00 points to end at 388.20 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was up 2.21% or 4.90 points to 227.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 2.17% or 0.24 points to trade at 10.82 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) declined 1.72% or 2.56 points to end at 146.26 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was down 1.25% or 0.61 points to 48.17.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 4.01% to 30.06, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.05% to settle at 34.76 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 2.71% to close at 101.50.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.15% to 22.60 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 2.44% to settle at 23.22 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.35% to 34.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 4.01% to 30.06, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.05% to settle at 34.76 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 1.84% to close at 337.70.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 2.55% to 29.00 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 2.44% to settle at 23.22 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.35% to 34.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 365 to 272 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; rising 2.92% or 11.00 to 388.20.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.87% to 13.64.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.31% or 6.25 to $2,021.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.88% or 0.69 to hit $78.72 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.42 to trade at $83.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.28.
