
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Media and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.56% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index gained 2.79%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 12.39% or 3.65 points to trade at 33.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) added 8.41% or 4.03 points to end at 51.94 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 5.97% or 7.64 points to 135.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn), which fell 2.82% or 0.55 points to trade at 18.86 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) declined 2.77% or 2.79 points to end at 97.76 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 2.37% or 1.22 points to 50.19.
The top performers on the MDAX were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which rose 14.58% to 33.87, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 12.95% to settle at 27.99 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 8.81% to close at 44.95.
The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 2.53% to 21.21 in late trade, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which lost 2.18% to settle at 20.20 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 1.65% to 2.33 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which rose 14.58% to 33.87, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was up 9.79% to settle at 20.86 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 4.72% to close at 419.30.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 4.14% to 20.85 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 3.17% to settle at 55.05 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 2.82% to 18.86 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 432 to 250 and 75 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.42% to 22.18.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 14.55 to $1,768.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.19% or 1.89 to hit $88.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.74 to trade at $95.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.28% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.56% at 106.41.
