
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Industrials and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.74%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.55%, and the TecDAX index added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which rose 2.77% or 4.85 points to trade at 180.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) added 2.65% or 1.67 points to end at 64.79 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.57% or 0.43 points to 16.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which fell 0.80% or 0.85 points to trade at 105.95 at the close. Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 0.74% or 0.20 points to end at 26.67 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was down 0.71% or 2.50 points to 350.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 5.34% to 28.02, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was up 3.87% to settle at 36.19 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 3.34% to close at 63.40.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 3.18% to 121.65 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 3.08% to settle at 2.39 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.34% to 40.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which rose 3.87% to 36.19, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 2.73% to settle at 19.76 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 1.91% to close at 16.25.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 5.46% to 66.60 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 3.18% to settle at 121.65 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 2.58% to 15.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 413 to 251 and 96 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.52% to 21.64.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.51% or 9.15 to $1,810.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.77% or 0.55 to hit $70.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.32 to trade at $75.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.79.
