
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation&Logistics and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.33% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index gained 0.77%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.51%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 4.38% or 0.42 points to trade at 9.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) added 4.06% or 2.08 points to end at 53.32 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 3.95% or 1.36 points to 35.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn), which fell 6.88% or 0.82 points to trade at 11.09 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 5.32% or 0.98 points to end at 17.36 and Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 1.85% or 0.51 points to 27.13.
The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which rose 5.01% to 62.90, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 4.04% to settle at 65.70 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 3.37% to close at 28.23.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 6.27% to 127.10 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which lost 6.06% to settle at 2.79 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was down 5.62% to 15.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 4.04% to 65.70, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 3.95% to settle at 35.76 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 3.37% to close at 28.23.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 6.06% to 2.79 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which lost 4.30% to settle at 24.06 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 0.65% to 83.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 438 to 213 and 98 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.64% to 16.44 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.38% or 27.40 to $1,957.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.68% or 1.22 to hit $71.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.72% or 1.32 to trade at $75.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 103.48.
