
Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer&Cyclical, Chemicals and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.44% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index added 1.12%, and the TecDAX index added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 8.90% or 13.92 points to trade at 170.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 5.25% or 2.00 points to end at 40.13 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 5.06% or 0.47 points to 9.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DPWGn), which fell 2.91% or 1.26 points to trade at 41.88 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) declined 2.26% or 5.00 points to end at 215.95 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was down 1.64% or 0.69 points to 41.47.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 9.09% to 143.35, Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which was up 5.27% to settle at 59.50 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 4.84% to close at 24.69.
The worst performers were GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which was down 6.25% to 40.02 in late trade, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which lost 2.73% to settle at 43.44 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 1.26% to 98.05 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 3.85% to 105.30, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 3.22% to settle at 10.74 and Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 3.14% to close at 48.68.
The worst performers were Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was down 5.85% to 33.18 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 1.39% to settle at 48.32 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.02% to 41.67 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 471 to 193 and 84 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.91% to 18.51.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.54% or 31.75 to $2,023.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 4.20% or 2.88 to hit $71.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.97% or 2.88 to trade at $75.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 100.97.
