Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.51%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.51%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.51%, and the TecDAX index added 1.12%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which rose 7.34% or 0.57 points to trade at 8.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 4.60% or 0.47 points to end at 10.81 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was up 4.52% or 7.10 points to 164.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 3.09% or 3.00 points to trade at 94.24 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 1.22% or 0.24 points to end at 18.96 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was down 1.17% or 1.18 points to 99.42.

The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 6.25% to 20.81, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was up 4.81% to settle at 21.34 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which gained 4.75% to close at 7.59.

The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 7.87% to 1.82 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 4.26% to settle at 5.74 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.53% to 32.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which rose 8.71% to 17.23, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 6.27% to settle at 20.94 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 6.12% to close at 68.50.

The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 1.79% to 2.03 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 0.94% to settle at 94.40 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.91% to 17.57 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 421 to 253 and 66 ended unchanged.

Shares in Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.09% or 3.00 to 94.24. Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.22% or 0.24 to 18.96. Shares in Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) fell to all time lows; losing 7.87% or 0.16 to 1.82. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.26% or 0.26 to 5.74. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.79% or 0.04 to 2.03.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.81% to 29.91.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.21% or 3.50 to $1,674.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.11% or 1.84 to hit $89.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.08% or 1.92 to trade at $94.37 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP fell 1.16% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 112.37.
