
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.16%, while the MDAX index declined 0.82%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which rose 3.92% or 1.84 points to trade at 48.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 3.70% or 4.44 points to end at 124.44 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 2.28% or 0.52 points to 23.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 3.73% or 1.37 points to trade at 35.36 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 2.79% or 1.44 points to end at 50.26 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 2.52% or 0.67 points to 25.89.
The top performers on the MDAX were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which rose 10.24% to 32.30, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 3.81% to settle at 2.18 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which gained 1.84% to close at 52.65.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 9.91% to 17.36 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 9.02% to settle at 18.65 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which was down 7.20% to 7.65 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which rose 10.24% to 32.30, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 3.92% to settle at 48.83 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 1.74% to close at 21.05.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 9.91% to 17.36 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 9.02% to settle at 18.65 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 4.15% to 28.66 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 402 to 279 and 76 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.90% to 23.05.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.25 to $1,714.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.92% or 2.60 to hit $86.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.41% or 2.30 to trade at $93.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.48% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 110.19.
