Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.25%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction, Chemicals and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.25%, while the MDAX index declined 0.10%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 3.15% or 0.57 points to trade at 18.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.73% or 4.10 points to end at 240.50 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was up 1.72% or 3.80 points to 225.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 4.43% or 3.36 points to trade at 72.54 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 4.34% or 4.18 points to end at 92.12 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was down 1.99% or 3.85 points to 189.35.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 5.12% to 1.15, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 3.52% to settle at 35.75 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which gained 3.08% to close at 49.25.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 4.18% to 116.85 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 4.03% to settle at 73.75 and Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which was down 3.07% to 17.99 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 2.70% to 8.75, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 1.94% to settle at 210.00 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 1.60% to close at 38.66.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 4.03% to 73.75 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 3.83% to settle at 13.80 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.96% to 11.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 323 to 323 and 101 ended unchanged.

Shares in Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.34% or 4.18 to 92.12. Shares in Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.94% or 4.00 to 210.00.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.15% to 14.60 a new 3-years low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.13% or 2.55 to $1,976.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $71.02 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.24 to trade at $75.72 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 103.51.
