
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media, Technology and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.33% to hit a new 6-months low, while the MDAX index fell 1.07%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG), which rose 5.07% or 6.14 points to trade at 127.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 3.09% or 4.50 points to end at 150.05 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was up 1.72% or 0.58 points to 34.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 5.05% or 1.09 points to trade at 20.51 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 4.45% or 2.84 points to end at 60.98 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 3.39% or 1.05 points to 30.07.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 2.54% to 29.11, Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which was up 2.25% to settle at 23.64 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 1.04% to close at 64.08.
The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 8.55% to 103.70 in late trade, Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which lost 6.72% to settle at 59.94 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 5.89% to 27.48 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which rose 5.07% to 127.28, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.54% to settle at 29.11 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 1.30% to close at 257.50.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 5.89% to 27.48 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 3.71% to settle at 35.81 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 3.39% to 30.07 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 470 to 182 and 79 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.23% to 20.64 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 6.15 to $1,974.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.80% or 0.70 to hit $87.97 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.47 to trade at $91.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.62% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 105.88.
