
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Construction and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.39%, while the MDAX index lost 0.24%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.11% or 0.59 points to trade at 19.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) added 1.63% or 1.59 points to end at 99.34 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 1.41% or 0.96 points to 68.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 6.21% or 1.48 points to trade at 22.37 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) declined 3.95% or 1.46 points to end at 35.46 and Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 3.61% or 0.94 points to 25.09.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 2.67% to 14.61, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was up 2.47% to settle at 38.11 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.44% to close at 29.79.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 6.79% to 56.30 in late trade, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which lost 6.09% to settle at 17.42 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 3.76% to 20.47 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 4.22% to 32.10, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 3.52% to settle at 76.50 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 2.67% to close at 14.61.
The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 3.34% to 15.90 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 2.32% to settle at 16.61 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.81% to 42.77 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 396 to 301 and 62 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; rising 4.22% or 1.30 to 32.10.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.10% to 19.33.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.44% or 8.10 to $1,844.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $77.12 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.32 to trade at $83.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 104.36.
