
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.62%, while the MDAX index declined 0.52%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.60%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe), which rose 1.80% or 0.54 points to trade at 30.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) added 1.63% or 0.88 points to end at 54.82 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 1.60% or 2.95 points to 187.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 10.72% or 41.40 points to trade at 344.90 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) declined 4.20% or 2.20 points to end at 50.16 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was down 4.14% or 2.86 points to 66.24.
The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 2.09% to 121.85, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 1.64% to settle at 34.08 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which gained 1.48% to close at 38.34.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 5.46% to 17.40 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 3.17% to settle at 63.62 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 3.13% to 1.22 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 2.09% to 121.85, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 1.63% to settle at 54.82 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.13% to close at 35.94.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 10.72% to 344.90 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 5.46% to settle at 17.40 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 5.39% to 100.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 420 to 242 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.20% or 2.20 to 50.16.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.35% to 17.30.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.56% or 11.15 to $2,018.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.07% or 1.64 to hit $77.60 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.18% or 1.81 to trade at $81.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 101.50.
