
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction, Industrials and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.67%, while the MDAX index fell 0.02%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which rose 1.12% or 1.35 points to trade at 122.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) added 0.65% or 0.33 points to end at 50.87 and Henkel&Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) was up 0.65% or 0.46 points to 71.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which fell 4.18% or 4.72 points to trade at 108.32 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 3.62% or 3.69 points to end at 98.16 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was down 3.06% or 2.97 points to 94.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 3.74% to 7.37, Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) which was up 3.43% to settle at 75.40 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 3.25% to close at 38.10.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 6.07% to 71.82 in late trade, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which lost 3.55% to settle at 106.10 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was down 2.61% to 13.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 1.37% to 35.58, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 0.67% to settle at 30.16 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 0.51% to close at 17.84.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 2.29% to 26.44 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 1.72% to settle at 370.90 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 1.64% to 26.36 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 354 to 299 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.18% or 4.72 to 108.32.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.14% to 14.49.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.65 to $1,964.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.20% or 1.84 to hit $85.47 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.62 to trade at $88.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 104.14.
