Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.91%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Software and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.91%, while the MDAX index fell 1.14%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.92%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which rose 8.30% or 1.28 points to trade at 16.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 3.60% or 1.13 points to end at 32.56 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 1.44% or 0.20 points to 14.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 3.97% or 4.13 points to trade at 99.92 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 3.72% or 10.90 points to end at 282.10 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 3.05% or 5.36 points to 170.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 6.43% to 30.79, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 3.70% to settle at 7.00 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which gained 1.13% to close at 44.60.

The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 16.61% to 26.20 in late trade, RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which lost 8.82% to settle at 28.95 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 6.82% to 44.14 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 3.60% to 32.56, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 2.51% to settle at 245.50 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which gained 0.07% to close at 67.75.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.98% to 9.16 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.60% to settle at 21.78 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 4.26% to 27.86 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 432 to 181 and 25 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 8.30% or 1.28 to 16.68. Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.44% or 0.20 to 14.06. Shares in RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) fell to 3-years lows; down 8.82% or 2.80 to 28.95. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.98% or 0.48 to 9.16.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.84% to 15.42.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.22% or 5.15 to $2,343.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $82.59 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $87.98 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 105.53.
