
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Retail and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.08%, while the MDAX index declined 0.29%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 3.94% or 1.03 points to trade at 27.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 1.60% or 0.22 points to end at 13.96 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 1.25% or 0.24 points to 19.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which fell 5.15% or 3.85 points to trade at 70.94 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) declined 4.64% or 5.60 points to end at 115.15 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was down 4.36% or 1.92 points to 42.13.
The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which rose 3.72% to 13.39, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 3.10% to settle at 79.92 and KS AG (ETR:SDFGn) which gained 2.94% to close at 14.02.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 4.78% to 6.34 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 4.57% to settle at 1.95 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 3.77% to 26.04 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 1.41% to 46.65, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 1.33% to settle at 83.55 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 1.19% to close at 9.74.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 3.77% to 26.04 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 3.26% to settle at 282.30 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 3.08% to 252.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.72% or 0.48 to 13.39. Shares in LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.10% or 2.40 to 79.92.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.71% to 14.64.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.54% or 12.35 to $2,315.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.27% or 2.68 to hit $79.25 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.08% or 2.66 to trade at $83.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 106.11.
