Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.84%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.84% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index lost 2.68%, and the TecDAX index declined 3.66%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which rose 2.43% or 0.21 points to trade at 9.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) added 0.47% or 0.34 points to end at 72.34 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) was up 0.22% or 0.38 points to 172.22 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 6.50% or 24.60 points to trade at 354.00 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 6.37% or 1.36 points to end at 20.00 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was down 5.05% or 2.88 points to 54.18.

The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 2.17% to 8.18, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was up 0.71% to settle at 7.41 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which lost 0.25% to close at 56.68.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 7.46% to 22.19 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 6.98% to settle at 8.60 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 5.85% to 49.39 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which fell 0.59% to 18.58, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was down 0.66% to settle at 26.90 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which lost 0.83% to close at 2.28.

The worst performers were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 21.39% to 14.33 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 6.98% to settle at 8.60 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 6.50% to 354.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 566 to 110 and 75 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.37% or 1.36 to 20.00. Shares in Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.05% or 2.88 to 54.18. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.46% or 1.79 to 22.19. Shares in TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) fell to all time lows; losing 6.98% or 0.65 to 8.60. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.85% or 3.07 to 49.39. Shares in Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) fell to all time lows; losing 21.39% or 3.90 to 14.33. Shares in TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) fell to all time lows; losing 6.98% or 0.65 to 8.60.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.10% to 28.65.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.35% or 5.90 to $1,681.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $83.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.30 to trade at $90.13 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 110.95.
