Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.02%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Transportation&Logistics and Media sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.02%, while the MDAX index added 0.06%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 2.53% or 1.21 points to trade at 49.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 2.37% or 0.52 points to end at 22.45 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 2.24% or 1.48 points to 67.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which fell 2.65% or 3.95 points to trade at 144.85 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 2.42% or 5.80 points to end at 234.20 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) was down 1.84% or 0.82 points to 43.78.

The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 2.62% to 107.90, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 2.61% to settle at 98.45 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which gained 2.45% to close at 54.30.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.15% to 16.29 in late trade, Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which lost 3.48% to settle at 19.14 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 2.45% to 1.62 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which rose 2.48% to 207.00, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.17% to settle at 29.22 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which gained 2.11% to close at 46.97.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.15% to 16.29 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which lost 2.45% to settle at 1.62 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.42% to 234.20 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 372 to 276 and 86 ended unchanged.

Shares in Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.65% or 3.95 to 144.85. Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.42% or 5.80 to 234.20. Shares in Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.84% or 0.82 to 43.78. Shares in Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.48% or 0.69 to 19.14. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) fell to all time lows; down 2.45% or 0.04 to 1.62. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) fell to all time lows; falling 2.45% or 0.04 to 1.62. Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.42% or 5.80 to 234.20.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.12% to 20.38.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 7.05 to $1,987.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.73% or 1.52 to hit $86.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 1.36 to trade at $90.80 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 105.57.
